Need to ap0oligze for the suggestive post there. Well. I guess if i really think about, it's nothign THAT serious. BUT. it impacts me nonetheless.

THank you guys for the concern. and NO. I didn't see anyone naked. hahahahahahaha

OKay, I'll leave a seriously long post for this trip to Quebec City till later. I'm currently in Montreak, crashing at my friend's place. It's nice here man. There's a cosy fireplace and he has a pool table!!!! The irony is, all his cues are broken. SHEESH. ahhahaha Oh well!

A little sneak preview into what i've been doing. I just went skiing yesterday. fell down ALOT. but had the most fun. I was doing the bunny hill most of the time, but I think i've learnt abit about how to Slalom!!! In case you guys don't know what that is, CHECK OUT the WINTER OLYMPICS!!

I've also went dog sledding. yup. I'm perfectly serious! DOG SLEDDING. It's the art of mushing. The one where you tell huskies to carry you around snow covered terrain. IT'S AMAZING. I really can't tell you more than that. I'll let my pictures do the talking next time.

I tried my hand at skating AGAIN. and ppl who know me well know that i really suck at it. haha. I'm too afriad of falling! But I tried it at Old Quebec (or Vieux Quebec in French I think) and I still can't do it properly! but the ambience there was just spectacular. Just imagine. Light snow is falling, you're skating in an outdoor rink, and there's melodious strains of classical music wafting from the speakers and onto the rink. Children and laughing and playing on the rink and you watch cars wheeze by on the street beside it and into the distance, you see an old fortification lit by a soft glow. You just soak in the atmospohere and know that this is something that doesn't come by easily.

I also spent a night at the MOntreal casino. and NO. it wasn't for gambling. WE spent a night in the car, cos we had no where else to go. hahaa. Cheapskates like us prefer to spend the money doing the above activities then find a space to rest.

And OH. Miss HOllander over here is the official navigator for the group of us. YES YES. Laugh your heart out. I didn't manage to get us very lost. hahaah. and we found all the places we wanted to. But it took the corssing of three bridges twice, circling an island along its coast and very many U Turns. BUT HEY. I seriously think we found alot of joy in getting lost (or this may be a way for me to comfort myself).

I caught a few phrases of french as well. But not much lah. I think i'm better sticking to English.

OH!!! we triend inner tubing too. I think it's more fun than tobogganing man. at least, it hurts my butt less!

PS: FOr you guys who are wondering, NOPE. I haven't gained weight yet. HAH. And I think i've actually lost half a kg. hahahahahahahahaha. (or this may be another one of my self delusions)

Au revoir ppl. Ottawa next!

To err is human, to forgive, divine

Can't really say whether it's his fault, because technically, he didn't know who was in there. But it's like I have to find someone to blame for all this, and yet, I can bear to just point the finger solely at him.

Maybe we should have known better and not gone over to his place, because we did know that they were out drinking. But honestly, who would have thought that it would lead up to that? I'm no prophet.

So now, the best solution is to fix the problem. I stayed up all night cos i loaned him my bed. [poor dude, he's probably in a worse state than I am, but that doesn't mean I'm not in a bad state. ARGH] And now i'm praying that this CAN be fixed.

[For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, well. I think you seriously don't wanna know. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH]

Never been so close to crying out of anger.

Valentine's Date

I had the immense privilege of spending quality time with my girl friends, Cindy, Joo and Saranya, and of course, my roomie and our new addition to the crazy girl family, Anita, on this special special day.

You girls are simply amazing. I really can't think of any other way I could have spent this day. The food, sparklers, merry-go-round table tennis, laughing, sharing, and eating. You girls eptiomize the meaning of fun, love and joy.

I'm SOOOOOO SORRY i didn't get you girls anything personal!!! ARGH. My careless mind. I promise i'll give you guys a good one soon!

I'm going for a concert tmr!!!! I know it'll be great. It's with my MUSIC 100 classmates. Can't hardly wait. ;)
Wow. been quite lazy about blogging these few days. and so much has happened! I've finished all my mid terms for one, and I'm preparing to go to Quebec City on my reading week break, to ski! and hopefully, maybe snowboard too.

Well, haven't really been myself these few days, been very involved in many little social events over at my residence. I learnt how to play poker in like less than 5 mins and won 3rd place in the poker tournament (I think it ws cos of ppl who were sick of playing and deciding to go 'all in' just to get out of the tournament. I just so happened to be one of those ppl who were free enough to stay. hahahahaha) I learnt to play drinking crazy eights too, and i can't remember much of what really happened :S

Over the last week, I also went tobogganing again, and karaoke again, and I jammed with Walter and Pierre. It was good good fun and we composed two short choruses. hahah. i can't imgaine how many more we can come up with when we start on our road trip.

and now, it's Valentine's Day and me and Daffy have decided to spread a bit of love around this place and we bought this nice fudge chocolates and hershey's kisses to give to the ppl we knew. YUM. And wwe can spread a bit of fat around at the same time. haha.

And i'm going to end of with this quote from the Bible about love. I think alot of ppl have seen it before, but i urge you to sit down and truly consider what it's trying to say. to date, I haven't yet found any description that matches this.

"if i speak in tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If i have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if i have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am NOTHING.
If I give ALL I POSSESS TO THE POOR and SURRENDER MY BODY TO THE FLAMES, but have not love, I GAIN NOTHING." 1 Cor 13:1b-3

So what is love?

"Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, and it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails." 1 Cor 13:4-8a

I shudder to think of what i truly mean to say when I say I LOVE someone. I know no one's perfect, but it doesn't stop me from trying to give this love to someone else. Because I think everyone deserves to be loved like that.

Been Thinking...

Yup. Have been doing quite some soul searching these few days. Happens once in a while you know. Allows myself to sit back and see how my life has unfolded thus far. A little break to just STOP. Pause for that little moment. And evaluate.

People around me: Like I've shown in my previous posts, my friends over here have just been plain brilliant. And I really hope these friendships will extend beyond my stay in this wintery wonderland.
BUT. There have been times my patience has been put to the test. Certain idiosyncracies that I just cannot and will not stomach. And that has left me irritable and upset with myself. My innate judgemental nature gets the better of me and I lose my cool. Especially when I understand that they can't help it. And especially so when I KNOW I have my own shortcomings that other people have to put up with.

Things I've been doing: I'll never exchange this with any other experience (besides finding myself face to face with my Lord of course) All the all night mahjong sessions, K-zone karaoke sessions (and more to come!!), MC Killer, Spoons (where we did silly sailormoon actions, ate crackers in the fastest time possible, wore our shirts inside out in the shortest time possible), partying (Flying Dog, Caribbean Night, Lunar fest - where I had my virgin taste of liquid cocaine which tasted like crap [FYI: It's a shot of alcohol. I'm not doing drugs], and my first time witnessing good hip hop dancing and helped two drunk guys back), squash (which made me look like an abused kid with Parkinsons) and... TOBOGGANING (which usually meant I ended up with a sore butt and very wet all over. All the snow ball fights (which I usually lost cos I can't aim!! Lousy depth perception!), and dunking each other in the snow. OOOKKKAAYYY. I was the one who usually gets dunked. I should have watched more wrestling when I was young so I can throw other people in the snow!!

Church services: I've decided to go the Chapel of St. Bede, the one with a 12strong congregation! YEAH! and i'm going to grab all those self proclaimed Anglicans along with me. REVIVAL!!! Nah. I'm not THAT ambitious. All in God's time. I will do whatever I can.

Food: I miss miss bak kut teh, tao suan, char kway teow, cha gui, hokkien mee, chicken rice, and crabmeat linguini!!!!! The people here don't even know what carbonara is!!! Sigh. Can't have best of both worlds eh?

School: Well, I'm really enjoying my courses here. HONESTLY! I've never seen lectures hall so filled, so enthusiastic, and so participative. WEll, I did have this really hard mid term just now, which led me to the urge to blog, but I'm just praying hard that I'll pass it. Hmmm. My favourite course? MUSIC 100 and PSYCH 334. PSYCH 334 is about individual counselling theories. so when I get back people, I'm more equipped to help you all!! wahahah. Okay. I think I should help myself first. heh.

Oh. Squirrels scurrying across campus is a very normal sight over here. and Canadian geese honking and waddling with their sexy butt walk. So amusing! well it stops being amusing when they start pooping all over the place. THeir poop is GREEEN. EEEKS. And you have to try and siam all the greenish guck cos sometimes they're splattered all over the ground, trampled upon by the unfortunate souls who are too blur to notice. I'm determined not to be one of those.

And all these thoughts are just a tip of an iceberg. Only reason I'm stopping is cos I wanna study for my MUSIC100 midterm tmr. Classical music here i come!!!

This is the picture of the other two guys who were with us for the game. The Bball fanatics. They were the ones helping to orientate me a bit. Especially James! whom you can't see much of.  Posted by Picasa
A POST TO MAKE UP FOR THE PREVIOUS POSTS

The people whom I taboggoned with. Well, not all of them! Look at the broken trays!! Walter was the culprit of all that. haha. From left, Walter, me, Anita, Daphne and Tony. They were such such such good fun!!! ;) Note: I really really really like Tony's hat. it's so warm and nice. Perfect for tabogganing!

Me and Alan teaming up for a game of table tennis on this rickety table tennis table at WCRI. That's the sport that me and Daffy play when we're too bloated from the meals provided here. haha. Alan's good man. Me being on his team like handicapped him or something.

And that's me avoiding a hostile smash from the opposing team. You can see the ping pong ball vaguely on the the top of the picture!! Cool effects. Thanks to Daffy's camera. haha. FYI, I can't smash the ball, nor return a smash, so I just basically AVOID. I like that strategy. hahaha.

All of us at the steamboat at Cindy's house. It's a post CNY reunion dinner thingy. And i tried my hand at making carbonara!! Obviously not the best result, but I know I'm getting there!! I also did ice blended drinks for all of us. And i still maintain that the green apples (which actually look yellow) are the reason for the lousy taste of the green apple ice blended. We all seemed to like the banana milkshake so no worries there!

The result of all our hard work!! Kudos to Cindy and Joo for getting the groceries for us and braving the cold to transport all this food to Cindy's place!! You guys are the bomb man ;)

All of the people who went to the Raptors' Game!!! It was held at Air Canada Centre, which is where concerts and ice hockey games are held as well. It was great! Though i felt that the atmosphere could have been more exciting, we all got FREE PIZZA cos the Raptors exceeded the 100 pt score to beat the New York Knicks 104-oh crap. I can't remember how many the Knicks scored. wahahah. oh well. I was seriously egging Raptors on to win so i could get the free pizza. And I found that I really like Chris Bosh's free throws. So silent. and deadly. Brilliant stuff.

And that's me outside the ACC (Air Canada Centre). BRO: I just wanna make you envious. I gotta watch an NBA match even though I was quite bored at it at times. haha. I was yawning quite frequently! The atmosphere is better felt over the TV though. There isn't much commentating throughout the game, but I can tell that playing at home is definitely a big big big advantage for the Raptors. When the Knicks score a two, the commentator just says, 'Maurice Taylor' in this dead pan voice but when a Raptors scores two points, he goes, "CHA-CHA-CHAAAAAAARLIEEEEEE VILLANEUVA for TWO!!!!' and the crowd naturally goes wild. it's hilarious actually!

The players warming up. LOOK AT THE EMPTY SEATS. You would never see this at an EPL soccer match man. NEVER. At least, never when the game is starting in less than 5mins time. It's crazy!!! look at the amount of empty seats in front! Even a 1st, 2nd or 3rd division soccer match would not warrant such a lousy turnout. AIyoh. YOu Canadians out there must give more support!!!!

Taken by Daphne. I was too engrossed in the game to whip out my camera and start taking pictures. I wasn't familiar enough with the game to know when the players were setting up and how they were setting up for a shot. haha. but I promise you, after this game, I'm going to put in more effort to understanding it!

A shot of the raptors setting up for a shot. With 22s left on the short clock (i think that's what they call it anyway. haha)

Well that's all for now i guess!! more coming up soon ;) Pictures from lunarfest hopefully (that eventful night. SOOOOO much to say. but I won't blog for everyone to see. heh. You guys gotta ask me!)
