PICTURES!
These are the overdue pictures from Cuba!

Me and Daffy on the nice beaches of Cuba

The bunch of us chilling at the Poolside

Me and Daffy both think this bartender's cute man! She says he looks down to earth. haha we all know what that means!

What me and Christina got for Room service on the first day. COOL eh?

The three roses among the 4 guys :) We were the best!!

And this picture is a special tribute to Pierre, who kindly allowed me to crash at his place for two weeks, who also brought me roller blading (and helping me acquire four bruises) and who has taught me so much about myself in the process. This was taken by him (well done!) and we were at the Gilles Villeneuve Race Track ( for those who don't know what or where that is, watch F1 grand prix racing man!) Took us one hour to walk the entire length of the race track while normally race cars would have had it down within a minute.

These were the good times man.. i wanan go back again soon! If only the stupid plane ride wasn't that long and wasn't that expensive. BLEH.

Home!

It's funny how I counted down to leaving for Canada but never really got round to counting down to leaving from Canada...

I arrived home at 1240am today and only got round to sleeping at around 4am. haha. and being jet lagged, i happily woke up at 6am to wish my bro the best for his test today.

It's strange really. It seems as if I've never gone and things are still the same here, yet things also seem like they are foreign now. But not the love and joy I've received from my family and friends after I got back, so I guess I'm not complaining.

I'm back in Singapore quite significantly different from when i left I guess. Time away from people that I depended on and were familiar with have taught me much. Time spent meeting new people and learning from them also have shaped me. I return not just more tanned, but also more aware of myself and possibly even knowing more about Love.

Anyway, I was determined to get over my jet lag asap and also determined to put my mind off things so i went to catch The Da Vinci Code ALONE. Yes. i watch movies alone. And i actually enjoy movies better alone.. Sounds very lonely but it's good therapeutic time for myself. I almost walked out of the theatre though, the movie wasn't as good as i had expected it to be... I think the book is more captivating.

But the themes it addresses are most certainly appealing to the popular culture, and it takes alot of reading and effort to sift out what Brown portrays as the truth (although his book is a fiction book) I really wonder how many people out there are going to tell the difference. I liked the fulcrum by which the movie rests on: truth is what it means to you. It's a very interesting tension that most Christians struggle with I think. I think I need more time to formulate my thoughts on this matter... working on a jet-lagged mind isn't what i consider optimal..

PS (no. this does not mean princess sophie.. it is actually postscript, or more like a sidenote to K. Kong if you're reading this!): My bruise is still as big as ever and i think i've even acquired a few new ones... don't even know how. haha. Mom's not happy...)

From Cuba and Back...

It's been a long time since I've posted and part of the reason was that I spent a week at Cuba and internet access there is amazingly inaccessible and expensive.

It's the first communist country I've ever visited in my life and I made it a point to make sure I visited Havana, the Capital city in Cuba (the rest of the time was wactually spent at a resort called Blau, in Varadero, which had a beautiful beach, lovely pool, and alot of sport acitvities and dancing as well!) For those who know what i'm talking about, I can't get 'My Commanding Wife' out of my mind!

Pictures will be up soon i hope, when i return to Singapore.. and that will be in about less than one and half weeks' time. I'm currently at Pierre's house, meeting his friends and also supposed to be doing a little bit of exploring on my own .Unfortunately, the weather here hasn't been the best since I've arrived and I haven't had a chance to explore... Apparently, the weather's supposed to improve AFTER i leave. SHeesh...

Well, for those who are interested to know, i've gotten a nice tan after Cuba! Hope you guys will still recognize me when I'm back ;)

The picture speaks for itself. You guys HAVE to come to Butchart Garden if you come to Vancouver..

Pale Pink sakura trees in Vancouver. Apparently, they only bloom for about a week? and we were there to see itin full bloom! NIIIICCEEEEE..

I was blinded by the white snow on top of Whistler's... ARGHH forgot to wear shades. SIlly me.

Look at the amount of ppl coming up the mountain to ski and snowboard! and this is in SPRING. it's amazing... it was 2deg at where we were on Whistler.
LAST DAYS AT VANCOUVER...

Went to a few places for these last three days and I really can't stop marvelling at the beauty bestowed upon this place. It's unbelievably amazing. Although the novelty of the lakes and mountains does wear off, but every so often, the feeling of magnificence creeps in and you just stand speechless by the serene beauty in front of you and you stop yourself in your tracks to just absorb the wonder.

Me and Daffy at Alice Lake, Near Whistler Mountain... The lake reflects like a mirror!!

Me and Daffy at the Butchart Gardens... It's the most beautiful garden i have ever seen in my life. The landscaping is simply breathtaking and very inspiring.. .Makes me wanna have my own garden to plant tulips and roses. I have quite a constipated smile in this face, I realize! haha. I think it's cos we were taking so many pictures at every nook and cranny of this place cos everywhere you turn, there's something you want to capture and share with others.

Even the dustbins in the garden are so beautifully decorated.. I've never been happier thrwoing away garbage! haha

Me, Daffy and J went cycling round Stanley park two days ago.. it was so windy it literally threw me off course! We cycled to Prospect point where we could see the Lion's Gate bridge and most of North Vancouver. Along the way, we saw a RACCOON! I've seen my closest cousin ( if you don't know what i'm talking about, check out those dark rings and eye bags. haha. travelling is TIRING!!)

MY RELATIVE! haha

More pictures coming up! went to Whistler Mountain today and this would be the very last time I'll be seeing snow! Brings back good ol' memories of skiing at Rigaud mountain near Montreal! I was so tempted to ski but i wasn't in the appropriate attire and i didn't bring enough money. PUI. I wanna ski!!!!!!!!!

NORTH VANCOUVER DAY OUT!!

We went to Deep Cove first and though we weren't prepped for a kayaking ride (we wanted to hike up Grouse Mountain which failed since the trail was CLOSED), we just went ahead anyway. That's what I like about road trips! the Spontaneity!!

Seems like I have trouble uploading more pictures..... promise the picutres will come!! Keep checking out this space!
